Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the Management of Emirates Airlines has denied entering into partnership with Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State over his airline company, Slok Airline. As gathered, the airline operators are battling to resuscitate the banned airline by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2004.
Kalu in a statement by his aide Onyekunle Oyewumi had stated the Slok Airline had struck a partnership deal with Emirates Airline that would enable it resume operations in this August. But a source at the Emirate Airlines disclosed to 247ureports.com that the story was false.
Kalu is presently facing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] for alleged looting of Abia State funds. The funds are alleged to have been used to set up Slok Airlines, and Sun Newspapers.
