Following sojourning into Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory by the nation’s enemies known as Boko Haram sect and the inability of the nation’s security operatives, especially the police to flush out the deadly group has made Nigerians to react as opinions sought within the South East States has called for the immediate sack of the police chief, Mr. Mohammed Abuburkar.

Sampling public opinions on the ugly development that may likely disintegrate Nigeria as a country if not properly addressed, the people who spoke extensively on the matter were of the view that the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abuburkar should be sacked for incompetence, judging from his already failed promise of flushing the deadly sect when he was appointed into the office of the Inspector General of Police.

IGP accused to be more focused in making financial gains outside his salary by some of his men is also alleged to have introduced new uniform now sold at a very exorbitant rate even though the nation’s number one policeman has severally denied that the camouflage uniform was never sold to any policeman in Nigeria.

Another accusation raised by some policemen during public contacts by 247ureports was that Mr. Mohammed Abuburkar had claimed during his budget defence before the senate that #1.5m is used in equipping every policeman in Nigeria whereas investigation conducted so far proved that apart from the Superior Police Officers, SPOs that gets locally manufactured boot and other police materials in interval, other policemen pays through their nose in equipping themselves.

Questioning on why the satanic activities of Boko Haram should today be on increase as against the promise of IGP Mohammed Abuburkar who had during his first working visit to Imo State Police Command few weeks after he took over the mantle of leadership of the corps, vowed to blush the sect out of the country, failed to act accordingly, Nigerians said the best thing to do was to show him the road he came through so that another person with virgin ideas on the problem at hand will be appointed.

“It is now very clear that the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar has nothing to offer as regards ridding Boko Haram sect out of the country. We are calling for his resignation or be sacked. Do you know how many souls that have been wasted by the people? The police have not addressed this issue and that was why we are saying that he should go for it is a shame to this nation that the insurgents will be tormenting the citizenry and it will not be addressed” Nigerian stated.
