Oba Of Benin Endorses President Jonathan For Second Term

The Oba of Benin, the Edo State capital, Oba 
Erediauwa, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan 
to shun all distractions and remain focused with his 
transformation agenda, endorsing him for a second 
term. 

The Oba spoke on Friday through his special envoy 
and the crown prince, Ambassador Eheneden 
Erediuwa, at a closed door meeting with President 
Goodluck Jonathan in the Presidential Villa. 
The Oba stated that he had been following the 
Jonathan administration with keen interest. 


“I have been praying fervently that the president 
would succeed and even surpass the expectations of 
many bearing the distractions and disturbances in 
some parts of the Country,” he said. 


The Oba endorsed President Jonathan for a second 
term and invited him over to Benin in the shortest 
possible time for special blessings. 
He called on the president to continue with his 
good work. 

President Jonathan’s transformation agenda is 
centred on reforming the power sector, diversifying 
the Nigerian economy, security of live and 
property, job creation and inclusive growth. 
The president has not declared his intention to 
contest in the 2015 presidential election.
