The Oba of Benin, the Edo State capital, ObaĀ
Erediauwa, has urged President Goodluck JonathanĀ
to shun all distractions and remain focused with hisĀ
transformation agenda, endorsing him for a secondĀ
term.Ā
The Oba spokeĀ on FridayĀ through his special envoyĀ
and the crown prince, Ambassador EhenedenĀ
Erediuwa, at a closed door meeting with PresidentĀ
Goodluck Jonathan in the Presidential Villa.Ā
The Oba stated that he had been following theĀ
Jonathan administration with keen interest.Ā
āI have been praying fervently that the presidentĀ
would succeed and even surpass the expectations ofĀ
many bearing the distractions and disturbances inĀ
some parts of the Country,ā he said.Ā
The Oba endorsed President Jonathan for a secondĀ
term and invited him over to Benin in the shortestĀ
possible time for special blessings.Ā
He called on the president to continue with hisĀ
good work.Ā
President Jonathanās transformation agenda isĀ
centred on reforming the power sector, diversifyingĀ
the Nigerian economy, security of live andĀ
property, job creation and inclusive growth.Ā
The president has not declared his intention toĀ
contest in the 2015 presidential election.Ā
