The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa, Alhaji Salisu Mahmuda, while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Dutse, said that no contestant seeking elective position would be given automatic ticket.
He said that there was no provision in the party’s constitution that recognised automatic ticket for anyone to emerge as the party’s candidate.
The Chairman said that the PDP had a working constitution, therefore, members, irrespective of their status in the party, must abide by it.
“The PDP’s constitution stipulates how a candidate should emerged,” he said.
Mahmuda also debunked the speculation that the governor and his supporters would quit the party.
