President Goodluck Jonathan and the 36 state governors will not meet today to discuss ways of ending the security challenges in the country, as earlier scheduled
247ureports.com gathered that the enlarged security meeting is not on the Presidency’s programme for today.
A source in the Presidency has also confirmed to 247ureports.com that the meeting has been rescheduled for 12.00 noon tomorrow.
The source said the Presidency would later today officially explain reasons for the postponement.
The meeting, which had been hitherto scheduled for 4.00pm today, was supposed to be a follow-up to an earlier one Jonathan had with the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party governors (PDP) last Thursday.
It would be recalled that All Progressives Congress (APC) governors were absent at Thursday’s meeting because their party leadership told them that an official of the Presidency informed one of them on its postponement.
The APC had postponed its state congresses earlier schedule for today to Saturday in order to allow its governors attended the security meeting with the president and the service chiefs.
