The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar has ordered the immediate deployment of a huge contingent of police personnel to stop the recurrent attacks by criminal elements in villages in Zamfara State.

“Ten Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), three units of Conventional Policemen, a Unit of Counter-Terrorism personnel, Border Patrol Teams and Force Intelligence personnel drawn from various Squadrons and Commands are to reinforce the operation of the existing Force in the affected areas,” a statement from Police spokesman CSP Frank Mba said yesterday.

He said the Air Wing of the Nigeria Police will also commence aerial patrol and surveillance to monitor the situation.
