The police in Aba, Abia State have arrested a 22years old man, Mr. Ihioma Nwachukwu for illegally harbouring 3 teenage girls in his residence.

247ureports.com gathered that Nwachukwu lured the three teenagers into his house after he separately promised to marry them.

Ihioma, who hails from Ntigha community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State was said to have harboured the teenage girls in a rented apartment at Eziama Mgboko Amairi village in Obingwa LGA with the intention of selling their babies on delivery.

Acting on a tip off,  the anti-robbery squad of the Aba Area Command, stormed Ihioma’s residence where three teenage girls Glory Uba aged 19years, Chioma Chibuzor 18years including a 5month pregnant teenager, one Blessing Ogbonna were rescued.

A police source who asked not to be named told our correspondent that there are strong indications that the girls were kept by the suspect for the purpose of child trafficking.

According to him, “How can a boy of 22 years who is a tricycle rider marry three women? I am a family man and know what it takes to manage a home. So what moral justification does he have to say that he wants to marry the three women? What most people do is to use people like him to get these girls impregnated and at the end of the day, sell off the babies after the girls delivered. I want to assure you that by the time a thorough investigation will be done a lot of hidden truth will be unraveled. The guy’s action could not be far away from child trafficking.”

When contacted, Abia State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Ibrahim confirmed the rescue of the girls told 247ureports.com that investigations have commenced to ascertain if the suspect actually abducted the victims for the purpose of impregnating and selling their babies.
