Investigations have revealed that the supervising minister for Education, Barrister Nyesome Wike has tended his resignation letter to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to purse his political career.

Source from Wike camp who disclosed the information to 247ureports.com said the minister had submitted his resignation letter to the President to contest as governor in Rivers state but President Jonathan is yet to approve his resignation.

Our source also has it that Wike intention to contest for Rivers guber position has already sought support from the President because the presidency identified the Education minister as the only candidate eligible to deliver Rivers state for People Democratic Party, PDP apart from other candidates having ambition on same governorship position.

Before now, there has been an impending speculation that Barrister Nyesome Wike would be nursing to clinch the governor’s sit in Rivers brick house come 2015 even when political analysis’s has said the next governorship position is expected to be zone to either Kalabaris or Ogoni’s since Governor Chibuike Amaechi is an Ikwerre indigene but when such speculation arose it was strongly counted in some quarters including in the camp of Wike.

Already  a political leader in People Democratic Party, PDP, of Etche Local government council, Emmanuel Anyewu had recently via an electronic media asked the minister for education to declare his governorship ambition, throwing his support and PDP members in Etche support to the minister when he declares.

Another source reliably informed this media that tension has beginning to increase in All Progressive Congress, APC, Rivers state chapter as it received the minister governorship ambition signal. To frustrate the minister, the source said governor Amaechi had intensively tried to stop such move via some ethic group but all measures prove abortive.
