Press Release
In his bid to transform Imo into a beautiful, organized and clean state the Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called for collaboration with mechanics in the state.
The state governor who made this call while interacting with mechanics in the state, at Ahiajoku Convention Centre Owerri, said that his people oriented administration requires the support and collaboration from every quarter.
Governor Okorocha who commended the group for being supportive of government programmes reiterated the achievements of the present administration in the state which looked unrealizable to people initially but have been well accomplished to the admiration of many, pointing out that a lot more would be done to realize the Imo of our dream.
The state Chief Executive stressed the need to relocate the mechanic villages around the municipality to a more conducive place at Avu. He maintained that government requires their consent for the movement rather than with compulsion. He further disclosed that the mechanics that had shop allocation at the former mechanic villages would remain in possession of the allocations but they would no longer be used for mechanic purposes whereas new allocation would be issued even to mechanics that never had one earlier. The building plan he said would however come from the government and shanties will not be allowed, while road side mechanics were advised to relocate immediately.
Governor Okorocha challenged the group to come together under one umbrella for progress. He however conducted fresh election for the group and Mr. Kyrian Nnadi emerged as the Chairman National Automobile Association, Imo state Chapter.
The Hon. Commissioner for Industries/Non Formal Sector, Barr. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro who presented the group to the governor, disclosed the groups readiness to always be partners of progress with the state governor.
