A group, Forum of Former Governor Okorocha Political Appointees
(FOFOPA) says it has discovered that their former boss came into
governance without well thought out socio-economic policies and
programmes that could create job opportunities, guarantee sustainable
rural and urban development as well as revive the economy of the
state.
In a statement signed by Hon. Ebere Uzoukwa and Uche Ogbuagu,
Secretary and Public Relations Officer, respectively, the group
maintained that any government without a blue-print clearly tailored
to promote effective partnership with the private sector and long-term
economic plan for job creation has definitely planned to fail.
“We, the former political appointees of His Excellency Owelle Rochas
Okorocha are deeply concerned with recent developments that relate to
the governance of Imo state. Recent developments have given us concern
on the sincerity of purpose of government which is an essential
ingredients in governance and further give credence to the allegation
that our former boss may have stepped into governance without
well-thought-out socio-economic policies and programmes designed to
create job opportunities, guarantee sustainable rural and urban
development as well as revive the state economy for the purpose of
attracting direct foreign investment,” the statement read in part.
The group admonished aspirants who have shown interest to take over
governance in 2015 to formulate a blue-print that can promote
effective partnership with the private sector and marshal out
long-term economic plan for job creation and job security, genuine
youth and women empowerment as well as provision of quality
health-care delivery.
“The reason is not far-fetched as government that has no plan has
already planned to fail. For us former political appointees, we have
resolved to be part of the democratic movement expected to enthrone a
government of an unquestionable sincerity and capacity that will
ultimately redefine governance in Imo state.”
The former political appointees congratulated ex- Special Assistant to
the Governor on Entertainment, Hon. Uhe Ogbuagu on his well-deserved
appointment as ‘United Nation Eminent Peace Ambassador’ by the World
Peace President, Prof. Long-John Smith, stressing that the award is a
clear testimony of his commitment to the campaign for sustainable
public good and collective welfare of Imolites and Nigerians.
“We strongly believe that this award will ultimately implore him to
remain on the path of the truth, equity, justice, sincerity in the
campaign to democratically actualize a better Imo and Nigeria come
2015.”
Recall that Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, the Chief Executive of Talkinson
International, promoters of several radio programmes in South East
zone and beyond was among eight personalities including Gov. Godswill
Akpabio who were recently conferred with the UN award at Uyo,
