Kano Police Arrest 6-Man Gang, Uncover Ammunitions

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 6-gang robbers with ammunitions for AK 47 rifles, some chemicals and cotton wool which, they said, were meant for launching attacks on innocent citizens of the state.

 

A press release by the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, the suspects – Sunday Bako, Moris Aga, Chris Nze, Ajayi Ida, Atinike Ade and Churchill Hope – are currently helping the police in its investigations. Majia said the gang was arrested on a tip-off by some police informants after the men had behaved suspiciously.

 

ASP Magaji Musa Majia also stated that in the cause of discharging its duties, the state police command has concluded arrangement for the prosecution of the arrested suspects at the same time with another suspect, Mohammed Sani, who the command already has in its custody.

 

According to ASP Magaji Musa Majia Sani specialised in drugging and robbing his victims, before luck ran out on him and he was nabbed within the city while trying to drug and rob one of his victims.

 

Part of the statement further stated that the command has concluded arrangement to charge to court, another three-man robbery gang, who were arrested for vandalising telecommunication cables belonging to ITEL, within Kofar Mazugal quarters of the metropolis.

 

The suspects, the command said, when arrested, were in possession of saws, metal rods, truck cable and other implements; including Ado Bisi, Abubakar Hambu and Umar Suleman all of who reside in Gwammaja Quarters, Kano.
