Jigawa state chief magistrate court – 2 sitting in Dutse, Jigawa state capital has remanded two persons for abducting a 20 year old girl Hajara Adamu from Gombe state. The names of the suspects are – Husaini sunusi of gaya town from kano who is a commercial driver based in Dutse, and Adamu Abubakar who is a staff to satrico construction company based in Dutse.
Hajara is believed to be from the tula tribe.
According to the Magistrate, Malam Aliyu Mahammed Hadejia, the suspects were alleged to have detained the girl illegally at their house. She was forced to stay with the two suspects until the village head of kachi town in Dutse local government informed the police working in Dutse division. The police arrested the suspects immediately.
247ureports.com gathered that all the suspect have confessed that they committed the act. The father of the girl, Malam Adamu, who appeared in court asked for the court to give him his daughter to take back to the family.
When 247ureports.com contacted Hajara Adamu [the victim] she stated that she was away from home because her parent were planning a forced marriage to one Zakari Abdullahi – a son to the district head of tula local government of Gombe state. She explained further that she hated the boy – that is why she ran away.
She explained that even if she returns back home she will never marry zakari because she don’t like him she denied having sexual contact with the two suspect charged for abducting her.
The suspects were remanded in prison for two weeks. The case was adjourned for hearing on 19/3/2014.
