Gunmen Shoot Corps Member In Anambra

Tension has continued to mount in Anambra state, following the shooting of a corps member by unknown gunmen Sunday night in the state. 

The corps member from Delta State, Julius Oghoroko bled profusely, and was in a coma when he was rushed to the Anambra State Teaching Hospital, Amaku around 10pm.

Anambra State police command Monday confirmed the Incident saying that already investigation had commenced on the problem.

Speaking with the Newsmen the state police public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Chukwuemeka said that as a result, the police had beefed up security around the camp in Umunya, Oyi local government Area.

The casualty officer and doctor on duty at the Teaching Hospital, Dr Kingsley Azugo, told the the newsmen that the condition of the corps member was stable.

According to him, “they came in around 10pm and because of the enormous loss of blood, the patient was heading into coma before he was revived.”

The injury was at the right biceps of the muscle, that is the billet entrance but the exit wound was at the media biceps/triceps measuring about eight centimeters”

What happened could be as a result of cult clash, though, it was not confirmed but it was gathered that the young man who schooled at Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) was accosted by an unidentified person and immediately got shot.
