As part of efforts to fulfill the desires and aspirations of the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise, the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has approved for construction a total of 20 km asphalted rural road for the to the tune of N1.2 billion.
This followed the yearning of the people for more roads during the town Hall Meeting with the governor at the Ezinihitte Council Headquarters, Itu.
Governor Okorocha who expressed appreciation for the support of Ezinihitte people which contributed to his victory at the 2011 governorship polls, said his Rescue Mission government will continue to provide the dividends of democracy across the state.
He recounted a number of projects put in place by the present administration to include 27 New General Hospitals, 305 brand new primary schools, massive road construction, introduction of free education from primary to tertiary level, promotion of agriculture through the community Government Council [CGC] and other empowerment programmes.
He noted that the visit was to ascertain that all the projects and programmes approved for the people of the area are in place and assured that all the projects would be completed on record time.
The governor equally mentioned the Umuorie Ezeudo Primary Health Center, Amudi Obizi Primary Health Centre, Onicha Nwafor Primary Health Centre and the Obokwu Solar Powered water scheme and urged the people to continue to support the All Progressive Congress led government.
He however frowned at the slow pace of work by some road contractors and warned that government will not to deal with contractors who are found wanting in their jobs.
The member representing Ezinihitte Mbaise constituency in the state House of Assembly, Dr Obioma Ekennayo pointed out that some of the roads captures by the state government in the area were taken over by NDDC and appealed to the governor to re-award more roads to make up for the 15Km each local government in the state.
In her address the transition committee Chairman of Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, Mrs Chioma Tycoon Onwumere expressed happiness at the numerous records of achievements of the Owelle Okorocha rescue Mission government and described it as unprecedented.
She said that the governor has won the hearts of the people with the retinue of projects put in place in the area and assured him the unflinching support of the people of Ezinihitte.
Among those present at the Town Hall meeting include some members of the House of Assembly, traditional rulers, the youths, political appointees of government, Dr Theodore Ekechi, commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, commissioner for Utilities and Public safety, chief Uche Nwosu, commissioner for Lands and Survey, dr Hilary eke, Dr Festus Nguma, Nze Robert Ahanekwu, Chief James Oduocha, Chief Alfred Nweke, Chief Eugene Ezenna, Chief Tycoon Onwumere and other stakeholders in the area.
