Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has assured the paramount ruler of Eggon land, Dr.Bala Abene Angbazo the resuscitation of the chiefdom through the replacement of forty (40) village heads.
The Governor gave the disclosure at an All Progressives Change campaign rally ahead of the scheduled Local Government poll to be held on Saturday, Al-Makura said the replacement of the death village heads stool became imperative to the life of the chiefdom.
He identified absence of village heads in 40 villages of Nasarawa Eggon as responsible for the huddles that bedeviled the operation of the chiefdom. He stated that the replacement of the vacant stools will go a long way in easing the burden on the monarch.
The Governor also assured the traditional ruler of his determination to create two chiefdoms of Agidi and Eggon Enron chiefdom. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura added that in no distance time the two chiefdoms will be created.
He also promised to consolidate on his past achievement in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government. The Governor said attention would be accorded to Nasarawa Eggon Local Government. He listed some of the gains of democracy in Nasarawa Local Government in the last three years to include the provision of township road network, rejuvenation of water supply.
Speaking on the abandoned township road, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura attributed the delay in the execution of the project as a major reason that lead to the revocation of the contract. He however said the project has been re-awarded to another construction firm – adding that the ongoing township road project will link the palace of the paramount ruler to the main town.
The also reiterated his administration’s readiness towards the upgrading of the palace,”I assured you the palace of Aren Eggon would be upgraded to stand the taste of time”. He commended the traditional ruler and illustrious sons and daughters of Eggon land of standing by him.
Calling on Eggon and non-Eggon speaking people of Nasarawa Eggon to eschew violence at all time.
The paramount ruler, Bala Angbazo applauded the state Governor for given utmost attention given to the people of Nasarawa Eggon. He also commended the Governor for assuring the palace of his enthusiasm to create two chiefdoms in Eggon land.
The monarch said the two chiefdoms if created will go a long way in addressing the hiccups affecting communities in the hinterland. Bala Angbazo while speaking, promised the Governor total support in delivering Hon.Danladi Galle ahead of the 22/3/2014 Local Government election.
