Foremost governorship aspirant in Abia state , Barrister Friday Nwosu, says he will build on the legacies to be left behind by Gov. Theodore Orji if he succeeds him in 2015.
Speaking while addressing members of the Abia Progressive Initiative (API) who called on him at his country home in Obingwa LGA, Nwosu said he has carefully studied Gov. Orji’s zeal and commitment to make a difference in the governance of Abia state, stressing that if elected, he would surely build on the legacies of the governor.
“I have developed programmes and policies that will transform Abia into a model state which also gives credence to the divinity of my desire to govern the state. My plans are carefully tailored to sustain the worthy legacies of our great leader, Chief Theodore Orji, who no doubt redefined governance in the state. My administration shall accord every sector of the state economy the attention it deserves if elected next governor of Abia state,” Nwosu said.
While describing PDP as the only existing party in Abia state, the governorship aspirant said he has developed well-thought-out programmes and policies that are clearly tailored towards job creation, industrialization, ethical re-orientation, infrastructural development and agricultural revolution.
In his address, spokesman of the group, Hon. Ebere Uzoukwa, declared that API decided to support Nwosu’s ambition after a careful survey of the antecedents of those who are believed to harbour ambition to succeed Gov. Orji in 2015.
“Only recently, API carried out a survey intended to ascertain the true background of all who have shown interest to succeed Gov. Theodore Orji. Interestingly, your antecedent and overall profile clearly separate you from the crowd as someone who could be entrusted with the task of taking Abia to the promise land. We also realized that your aspiration is well anchored on utmost sincerity of purpose, genuine commitment to sustain the legacies the legacies of Gov. Theodore Orji, respect for leaders and willingness to promote well-thought-out programmes and policies which will no doubt, impact positively on the economy of the state.
“While others especially those who have spent several years in power exhibit selfishness and arrogance in pursing their ambition, your own case is quite distinctive as you have unassumingly displayed humility and respect in consulting people across the state and Nigeria.”
Uzoukwa also disclosed that the group has started sensitizing residents of the state in respect to Nwosu’s ambition, strssing that with him as governor, the future of the state is bright.
