According to the Embassy, other members that will represent President Barack Obama and the country will include Honorable James Entwistle, United States Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Nigeria is celebrating a 100 years of existence as one nation since the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorate in 1914 by the then colonial administrator, Lord Lugard.

One of the activities lined up for the celebration is the centenary exhibition of what the nation has achieved since 1914.

United States wished the country well ahead of the celebrations.

“This centenary celebration presents us an opportunity to count our blessings as a nation, celebrate our dexterity and resilience as a people and resolve to launch into the next century with renewed determination, hope and expectations,” the Embassy stated.

The two-day celebrations end on Friday.
