The emerging caustic scenario brewing between Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state and his Deputy, Dameshi Luka Barau appears as clear evidence that all is not well between the two, with each public event of the state government.
The people of Nasarawa State are reportedly nolonger at ease with the silent rumpus brewing with the two officers of the state. Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the Deputy Governor has shunned all public functions where the state governor is schedule to appear or attend. The Deputy Governor recently returned from a trip to England – and since maintained a distance from the state governor – particularly in public gatherings/or events.
This development has continued to generate comments from citizens of the state. Keen observers point to Luka Barau actions as indicative of his readiness to dump the All Progressives Congress [APC] for the People’s Democratic Party [PDP].
Al-Makura while flagging-off the “state of the art” 160 bed model hospital said the project would be completed for a duration of 12 months. He added that his administration is determined to the enhancement of health care delivery to its citizenry.
“The increasing demand for health services necessitated the initiation of the state of the art Model hospital to complement the existing and overstretch Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) .
The Governor said that the congestion of Dash is causing untold hardship to people of Lafia and the state as a whole. He further said the model hospital if completed will be furnished with sophisticated facilities.
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in his speech assured the people that optimum attention will be accorded to the recruitment of professional doctors and nurses.
The state commissioner for health, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe maintained that the model hospital will serve as referral point to other hospitals. He added that the hospital has provision for 21 departments.
