Gov.Theodore Orji has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late John Ndubuka along St. Finbarrs road, Umuahia, the state capital.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after the visit, Orji described the late Ndubuka as his blood relation from the same village whom he gave employment.
“I gave him employment and deployed him to the Government House. When I saw that he was good in youth mobilization just like my son, I enlisted him to help my son,” the governor said.
He disclosed that his family and Ndubuka’s have had a cordial relationship over the years, lamenting that it is wicked for people to be spreading rumours suggesting that the deceased was killed by his son.
The governor condemned the way in which the incident is being politicized with several unguided statements in the social media, but added that he believes in the ability of the police to do a thorough investigation and make its findings known.
It would be recalled that John Ndubuka, an aide to the governor’s son, Engr. Chinedu Orji, on Saturday, 15th February, 2014, lost his life as he made to leave the Old Umuahia market venue of the grand reception in honour of Gov. Orji by the people of Umuahia North/Umuahia South /kwuano councils .
