Zamfara State Police Commissioner CP Ahmed Ibrahim said, the state police command is in custody of three members of vigilante who hailed from Kizara Village area of Tsafe Local government Zamfara state for alleged gruesome murder of a Fulani native from same village who was suspected to belong to the gang of the hoodlums that masterminded the attack last year.
The Police Commissioner who was speaking at the palace of the Emir of Shinkafi, explained that the Fulani native now a deceased was reported to have sold his cattle after the bloody Kizara attack and plan to exit the community before the suspected vigilante members launched an attack on the deceases took away his money and gruesomely murdered him
He said though they succeeded in killing him in what the Police Commissioner described as ‘’Jungle Justice’’, he explained that, those vigilante members who are now in their custody cannot be allow to go free because there is no law all over the world that permit jungle justice.
‘’Jungle Justice cannot be allow to take over the precedence in Zamfara and Nigeria at large, our laws are very clear and define the position of every crime and stipulated punishment, if you arrest a suspected hoodlum don’t take laws in to your hand, surrender over cases of criminal substance to the appropriate security agencies for action’’ the police commissioner added.
He called on the Emir of Shinkafi and indeed all the districts and village heads that assembled at the Emir’s palace to support the ongoing move by the state police command to ensure a sustainable peace in the state adding that without peace governance will be difficult.
He described Shinkafi Emirate as one of the most peaceful emirate in the state adding that the score card shall lighten the way for those in position of authority in the emirate to further strategize for the attainment of the overall objectives.
In his own part the Emir of Shinkafi Alh Mohd Makwashe Isah assured the police commissioner of his council’s readiness to support the ongoing reforms by the police command in conjunction with the state so that the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed by the people of the state over the years can be regain.
