Speech presented by His Excellency, former deputy governor of Kaduna state, Engr. James Bawa Magaji during APC membership registration in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I welcome you all to my village, Fadan-Kaje, Gida-Zonkwa in Zangon
Kataf LGA of Kaduna State on the occasion of the Membership
registration of the APC, being the first of its kind in this country.
From the outset, APC is leaving no one in doubt of the fact that its
emergence in the Nigeria Political Space, is to bring change to
Nigeria and Africa through progressive, people-oriented and purposeful
leadership.
Our people have suffered untold hardship in the last 15 years of very
corrupt, indolent, incompetent and sophomoric leadership of the PDP
despite the fact that accruable revenues to the country between 1999
to date; doubles total accrual to Nigeria between 1960-1999 when PDP
came to power.
This has made our people to become disillusioned, disoriented and
disgruntled, which is responsible for the militancy in the Niger
Delta, kidnappings, Boko Haram and all the insecurity tendencies that
were not known to us prior PDP’s assumption of office in 1999.
The level of poverty is beyond say. Unemployment, insecurity, open
and outright sharing of public funds at all levels of government is
the hallmark of its dispensation.
You would recall that CBN two weeks ago reported how 49.9 Billion US
Dollars being revenue to the Nation between 2012-2013 was never paid
to the federation account. And last week, again discovered another 20
Billion US Dollars; meaning that the 70 Billion USD that should have
been shared by the three tiers of government might have rather been
shared among members of the party in power.
In decent societies, heads would have rolled and the stolen Billions
of Dollars retrieved and paid to the appropriate accounts; while
accomplices are marched to prison. And the whistle blower, being the
CBN governor, rewarded for his vigilance. But unfortunately, the
governor is being victimised, while the criminals are shielded. (Case
of the valiant being made the villain).
Consequently, it behoves us Nigerians to ensure that no stone is left
un-turned and no turn is left un-stoned, in our struggle to bring
change to our country. We should vote out PDP at all levels and vote
in APC at all levels in 2015. There is no other time to do this than
now, and there is nobody else to wait for than ourselves; as we
represent the CHANGE that we seek.
May God almighty answer the prayers of the people of Nigeria by
removing bad, greedy, corrupt and incompetent leaders and bless us
with visionary and decent leaders from 2015 onwards, So help us God,
Amen.
