The Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Ukeh in Idemili North council area of Anambra state, Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, (a.k.a Ebube Muonso)ย on Thursdaymiraculously escaped from suspected assassinsโ€™ bullets on his way to the Adoration ground.

Sundayย Tribune gathered that the cleric was attacked by gunmen suspected to be assassins along Umuoji-Uke road, Idemili North council area of the state on his way to officiate at the weekly Adoration Ministry in Ukeh, Anambra state where the assassins riddled his Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV with bullets.

According to police source, the assailants had waylaid the Spiritual Director on his way to the Adoration ground and opened fire on the clergyman after they failed to flag him down and riddled the car with bullets while the man of God escaped unhurt miraculously.

The Director of Communication, Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Rev Fr. Ukor confirmed the attack on Fr. Ebube Muonso, adding that the reason for the attack was not yet known except assassination. Fr. Ukor further disclosed that the clear picture of what happened was not yet known by the entire Onitsha Archdiocese while confirming that Fr. Ebube Muonso was in good health after the attack.

A visit to St Charles Boromeow Parish, Odume Obosi where Rev Fr. Obimma is a Parochial Vicar showed an uneasy calm in the compound as the SUV in which Fr. Ebube Muonso was attacked was parked and covered with a cellophane bag.

A police source who pleaded anonymity said that the attackers may have come to eliminate the cleric whose spiritual profile is rising in the recent times and controls a crowd of over 10, 000 worshipers.

It will be recalled that over 27 persons died of stampede at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Ukeh late last year following the large crowd that came for adoration in the area.
