A police source who preferred anonymity hunted that the kidnappers were traced to their hideout by the police after their location was discovered through the tracking device system.
A combined team of police officers from the Aba Area Command led by renowned crime fighter, Anari Anari , an Assistant Superintendent of Police, were said to have cordoned the area and launched an assault on them which caused the kidnappers to flee the area, abandoning their victim in the bush.

A resident of the area said that the armed men shot sporadically into the air before whisking her away to an unknown destination.
Contacted on phone, Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna said he was yet to be briefed about the woman’s release, but a senior police officer at the Aba Area Command confirmed the development said the woman has since been reunited with her family.
