Why Uwajumogu Removed Samuelson –Says Ahaneku
–
My attention has been drawn to a publication in Nigerian Horn
Newspapers dated 11th December 2013 with the above headline.
As a concerned civil servant with the Imo State House of Assembly, I feel highly embarrassed with the current development at the Assembly.
That information and media management is dead at the Assembly is an
understatement, they have long been buried since an internet Warlord
(Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha) was suspended as the Senior Special Assistant on media to a good man, Rt. Hon Benji Uwajumogu, five months
ago without any official reason.
However the publication in the Nigerian Horn Newspaper has opened our
eyes as to why Citizen Samuelson (EKENWOHIA (The snake that owns the
forest) as Samuelson is today called at the Assembly) was suspended
according to the revelation of the current SSA media, Mr. Emeka
Ahaneku.
1. The publication said that Samuelson was suspended because a former
governor of the state, Dr Ikedi Ohakim was insulted by him.
2. The publication also said that Samuelson was suspended because HE
organized one Christian University to honour his boss and master.
3. The publication further said that Samuelson usurped the functions
of the House Committee Chairman on information, Hon Acho Ihim.
The publication concluded its report by saying that Samuelson has
since resumed duties by swapping position with the said Emeka Ahaneku
as the SSA Special Duties.
In the first place, Dr Ikedi Ohakim is an enemy of the present
Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha. (See Nigerian Horn
Newspapers December 9-10 2013, page 1& 2). If Samuelson was suspended
by the Imo Speaker because he indicted and insulted Dr Ohakim, is
Emeka Ahaneku implying that Speaker Uwajumogu has secret dealings with
the former governor to undermine the present government?
The Second issue is neither here nor there. What is wrong if the
Speaker’s aide organizes an honorary doctorate degree to honour his
boss with his own personal money?
The third reason is equally neither here nor there. Is Emeka Ahaneku
implying that the House Committee Chairman on information does not
know his job? If not why should a mere media aide to the speaker usurp
his functions? I put it to Emeka Ahaneku that Hon. Acho Ihim is far
more grounded in media operations than he thinks.
My interest in this whole mess at the Assembly is that rather than Mr.
Emeka Ahaneku defending himself of the allegations against him by the
Assembly correspondents, he is now trying to divert attention,
He has been accused of stealing monthly stipends meant for
correspondents. He has been accused of failing in his duties. He has
been accused of not making the Assembly correspondents bus available
for use by Pressmen. He has been accused of hiring hands to write for
him. He has been accused of under-reporting the Assembly and the Rt.
Hon. Speaker. He has been accused of not being welfaristic in his
dealings with people. All these allegations and more have culminated
in a total media blackout of the Assembly. All in just five months.
Also with the publication in the Horn Newspapers and quoting Emeka
Ahaneku, it simply means that he Ahaneku is the one exposing,
revealing and telling the public the secret decisions in the Assembly
in general and in the office of the Rt. Hon Speaker in particular. He
is the one who is exposing the Amiable Speaker to public ridicule. No
wonder he has been variously called a misfit and misnomer.
As a concerned civil servant at the Assembly, I am aware (most people
at the Assembly knows) that Samuelson has not received his July 2013
salary, yet other people (numbering over ten) who were equally
suspended from the same office have all received their salaries and
are back to their duty posts. Also, if Samuelson swapped positions
with Emeka Ahaneku , how come Ahaneku has continued to collect imprest
both for media and for General Duties, leaving Samuelson To operate
empty handed? If Samuelson swapped position with Emeka Ahaneku, how
come Aheneku has two official vehicles (a bus and a Toyota Camry)
while Samuelson has none? If Samuelson swapped position with Ahaneku,
how come when Speaker Uwajumogu in his large heartedness wanted to buy
a car for Samuelson two months ago, Emeka Ahaneku and his cabal
frustrated the move by falsely accusing Citizen Samuelson of
sponsoring attacks against the Speaker? In the speaker’s office,
Ahaneku is supposedly Samuelson’s junior in rank. This is verifiable.
Finally, as a concerned Civil Servant at the Assembly, I will advice
the Speaker to step out now and do what is right and also call his
boys to order because this war that has started will in the end
consume him if care is not taken. As they say, a stitch in time saves
nine.
