It was a double tragedy when a notorious thief leashed horror to the people of
Agbashi, the headquarter of Ekye Development Area in Nasarawa state. The notorious thief who goes by the name, Otanzi Sule was on Tuesday arrested in Doma Local Government and burnt to death by family members.
Sule was fingered as the prime suspect in many of the attacks committed in Agbashi and surrounding communities. He met his Waterloo after escaping with a bag of beniseed and Bajaj motorcycle belonging to his Uncle Talatu Oyi.
It took the aggrieved family members and youth who came to the intervention – against what was believed to be Juju power to burn the thief to death. According to eyewitness accounts, the notorious bandit disappeared into thin air by the use of mystical powers. But the notorious bandit met his match as other powers that superseded his mystical power descended on him.
It was learnt that the bandit was apprehended few meters away from Doma Wednesday market. Some onlookers at the scene of the incident revealed that the armed bandit who coordinated the many attacks met his timely death after killing his uncle.
One of escapee who was in a hideout during the attack stated that they were in hideout when 5man gang bounced on Talatu Oyi killing him at gun point by his nephew, Otanzi Sule.
The Nasarawa state commissioner of police, Shehu Umar, in telephone interview with 247ureports.com indicate that he was not aware of the incidence. Shehu Umar stated that he will get to the press after the Divisional Police Officer of Doma Local Government alerts him on the
incident.
As at press time the corpse was still lying in the open place.
