The ransom placed on the head of Mrs Uche Sam Oraegbunam, wife of the Anambra state chairman of the Labour Party, Chief Sam Oraegbunam has been lowered from the fifty million naira to three million Naira.
Family and security sources told journalists late yesterday that efforts were still on to secure her release as soon as possible unharmed.
The disconsolate husband, Sam declined comments but was still appealing to his wife’s abductors to consider his predicament and set her free at once. He said the family has been running around to see if they can raise some funds for her release as demanded by her captors.
She was said to have been abducted in Okpunor area, a suburb of Awka late afternoon on Tuesday, Dec 17,2013 when. The husband was busy attending a meeting of political parties with the management of the Anambra state Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), at the commission’s headquarters over the prolonged non conduct of council election in the state which became due since May 2003.
