The Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force,NPF, have commenced clampdown on persons selling and using bangers popurlarly known as knockout,fireworks and other explosives within the state.
This came after the commands earlier warning on the sell and its use through its press release.
It was gathered that the command through its operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad,SARS, had on information received from members of the public on 20th December, raided a warehouse at Old Park Enugu where the operatives recovered assorted bangers stocked in seven cartons numbering seven hundred pieces and went ahead to arrest two persons who gave their names as Jude Nwaiboko and obinna Nwaiboko in connection with the sales while the alleged owner of the shop is said to be on the run hence manhunt against him is intensified.
The command however is warning people selling or using bangers to desist from it as anyone caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law and advised in strongest term for people to be law abiding,security conscious and partner with the state command to ensure a hitch free celebration as the state command have mobilized her security apparatus in partnership with other sister security agencies to ensure a crime free state during,before and after the celebrations.
