IFEANYI EZUGWU,ENUGU.
Operatives of the special anti- robbery squad of the Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force,NPF, in the early hours of 12th December arrested nine suspected armed robbery suspects believed to be terrorizing motorists along Abakiliki-Enugu expressway.

Suspects who gave their names as;Sunday Orinya, Idenyi Ifeanyi,Sunday Okibe,Idenyi Nwagbo,Hyginus Orinya,Fidelis Ido,Tochukwu Okwudili,Sunday Abonyi and Titus Eze were apprehended at Idodo axis of the state when the eagle-eyed operatives stormed their hideout following an intelligent report received about the suspects and their nefarious activities.

Recovered from them in their hideout are three locally made single barrel guns.

Suspects are already helping the operatives in their investigations.

In another development, a man identified as Onoja Samuel Chijioke has been confirmed dead following the collapse of a mast believed to be that of a Radio station at 9th-mile corner Ngwo in Enugu.

The alleged incident took place on 13th December in the afternoon when the now deceased wanted to dismantle the mast while on top of it.

The mast suddenly pulled from its which led to the collapse allegedly resulting in the instant death of the deceased as confirmed by the Doctor in a nearby hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.

The body has been deposited at the mortuary of the hospital for necessary action.

Confirming the incidents in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, Enugu State command, Superintendent, Ebere Amaraizu, urged:”Members of the public should avail the security operatives in the state of timely information which will curb the activities of criminally minded persons especially at this festive season”.
