Chief Magistrate Court Ringim Order AIG In Charge Of Kano To Arrest Senator Sankara, and 2 Others

theĀ  chief magistrate court sitting at Rimgim local government area of Jigawa
has given an order of arrest Senator Sankara and two others for their refusal to
attend a scheduled court hearing.

The chief magistrate, Dawaki Aminu, in addressing the court indicated that the
accused person failed to attend the sitting and that the Jigawa state police proved
unable to produce the accused person in court. He then went on to order the
AIG of zone one ā€“ who is in-charge of Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States to arrest Senator
Sankara and two other suspects and to bring them to court.

The magistrate indicated that the court will hold giving a ruling or judgment
until the police produces the accused persons before the court – adding
that the accused persons must appear in court to defend themselves..

Among the accused are the senator son, Auwalu dan ladi sankara, the senator, and
one other person by the name ā€“ Dangumel.

All of them are now wanted by the
magistrate court at Ringim.

One of the counselsā€™ present at the hearing – Aliyu Adamu expressed that the court had the right to order for the arrest under section 70 of the Nigerian constitution sub section of the
federal constitution of Nigeria.

But the opposing lawyer, Morgan Onyemire, retorted that the court had no powers to entertain the matter ā€“ the lawyer appealed to the court to withdraw the earlier order of arresting
senator sankara and two other accused persons.

The chief magistrate called barrister Morgan accession as baseless ā€“ adding that
the court had the power to entertain any criminal case.

The court has adjourn the sitting for shearing till 23/12/2013
