Investigation has revealed that officers of the Rivers state Police command are currently leaving in fears since the state governor, Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi ordered his supporters to ready to confront the Police.Governor Amaechi had in several occasions directed his supporters to ready for the police because every attempt from him to deploy the present commissioner of Police Mr Mbu Joseph Mbu out from the state did not yield positive result.
This, in last week the governor in a large number of crowd when hosting the All Progressive Congress chieftains in government House Port Harcourt directed his loyalists to be courageous to confront the police.Perhaps, the governor is perceiving the fears that his political rivals may use the commissioner against his supporters in the forth coming 2015 general election.In an exclusive chat with a police sergeant serving in the state who pleaded anonymity reliably informed this publication that aftermath of governor Amaechi directive police officers serving in various division headquarters in the state are beginning to conceive fear of attack over plans to attack the stations.
The sergeant however called on the commissioner of police not to sweep off such statement that some of the governor supporters may want to act accordingly with the directive which is capable of igniting something that could be uncontrollable by the police.
