The Peoples Democratic Party PDP governorship candidate in the Nov 16,2013
election in Anambra state, Tony Nwoye has re- emphasized his disinterest in the
Nov 30 “supplementary election” as scheduled and announced by the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Addressing journalists in Awka yesterday at his Udoka Housing Estate Campaign
office, the candidate through his Director General of his campaign
Organisation, Prince Victor Ezenwa insisted that he is not going to participate
in the weekend election.

Ezenwa noted with dismay what he described as the unusual dissenting interest
by the party’s national Publicity Secretary , Chief Olisa Metuh who he accused
of an open disinterest in the success of Nwoye in the embattled election.

According to Ezenwa who was also a former Secretary to the State Government,
SSG and a former governorship candidate, ” we want to also detach Metuh
media tirade and conducts from the party’s National Working Committee(NWC) led
by Alh Bamangar Tukur which has been very assisting and cooperative with us in
this struggle”.

He insists that Metuh whose disenchantment for the victory of the party in the
state in now becoming legendary was also accused of not casting his vote on the
Nov 16 election.

He was accused also of exhibiting tendencies akin to known anti- party agents
and guns for hire. That it was strange that since the election till date Metuh
has never deemed it fit to contact Nwoye or any of his assistants, but has
literally turned himself into his spokesman in the national media. “This
is bizarre”, Ezenwa pointed out.

Another director in the Nwoye campaign organization, Ken Arinze who was former
Commissioner for Commerce in the state thanked the party for standing by Nwoye
irrespective of the strange stance of Metuh who is a son of the state.

He added that the organization accords their courtesy to Metuh as the party’s
spokesman, “but cannot keep silent whenever he oversteps his limits to
sing in the nations and international media against our candidate.

“We therefore urge our teeming supporters to stand by us, stay away from
the Nov 16 and Nov 30 sham called election, because we are going to fight for
out rights legally soon.
