Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the ex-lawmaker, Dino Melaye was arrested today [Monday at 5:30pm] by policemen and taken to the Federal Capital Territory [FCT] Police Command. According to information made available, Malaye was taken away by a Special Team led by one Patrick Ejoh, who is believed to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Dino Melaye’s arrest today comes two weeks following a protest led by him [Melaye] at the Eagle Square in Abuja – over the N255 million Bullet Proof car scandal involving the Federal Minister of Aviation, Hon. Stella Oduah – under the auspices of his Anti-Corruption Network.
As gathered, the home of Melaye were taken over by police officers – who are said to be conducting a search of the house and the premises. It is unsure what the police officers were searching for.
The Police Officers had arrested Melaye with a Warrant of Arrest for alleged criminal intimidation and threat to life. The arrest warrant obtained by 247ureports.com [shown below] indicates that Melaye may be arraigned on Tuesday, possibly at a Magistrate Court.
Before leaving with the arresting officers, Melaye told media men that “Two Police Officers are presently with me and they have come to arrest me. I did not know my offence, the two police officers just told me that they have a warrant of arrest on me with a charge of criminal intimidation and threat to life. But they did not tell me who I intimidated and threatened. There are two ASPs here, one of them is Patrick Ejoh. They said they were taking me to FCT state command.”
