Youth Group Alerts The President And PDP On INEC , As Anambra Indigenes In USA Condemns Those Trying To Derail President Jonathan’s Re-Election Bid In 2015 By Imposing A Candidate On PDP In Anambra Guber Elections.
As the battle for the 16th November Anambra Governorship election enters its final stage, The NIGERIA YOUTH LEADERS ASSEMBLY has alerted the President and the leadership of PDP as well as well meaning Nigerians that the INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega should resign immediately as he has become unstable and is displaying antics capable of destroying Nigeria nascent democracy.
At a crowded Press Conference in Abuja, the National Leader of the group Comrade Onyeka Chilota questioned the rationale behind INEC’s double talk in the Anambra PDP Governorship candidate believing that such a thing is capable of frustrating the 2015 general elections. “How can INEC issue a statement saying they recognize a particular PDP Executive in the state only to agree to accept a candidate from another faction? This is the main bone of crises in the Anambra State PDP governorship candidate, and it is imperative we let the whole nation understand that Prof Jega is over-reaching himself in this matter and therefore he should be shown the way out after being probed by the relevant authorities”, Comrade Onyeka queried.
If the Presidency, National Assembly and other relevant oversight bodies like other Civil Societies does not call Prof Jega to order, we shall mobilize the entire Nigerian Youth to force him out of office except if he corrects these known anomalies; including his position that INEC should not provide security for Observers during the 2015 general elections.
Commenting further on the Anambra matter the PDP Volunteer Force wondered why someone who was disqualified by the Amb. Wali screening committee got clearance to contest the election. Is it not shameful that it took the Federal High Court to finally disqualify him when a plethora of evidence was presented that his papers were questionable? How come there are rumours flying everywhere that certain courts and Judiciary officers are being bought over by a certain Money bag from Anambra State who is sponsoring the said Tony Nwoye to upturn that court judgment,” Alhaji Mohammed Gulma, the National leader queried, and called on the leadership of PDP to immediately forward the name of  a man of integrity and good pedigree to INEC as the consensus candidate as the NEC of PDP are constitutionally empowered to do so. We have Senator Andy Uba, Bar Mike Okoye, Walter Okeke, and others who have distinguished themselves in their areas of calling and the party must select their candidates from such individuals with stature.
Also in the same vein the Publicity Secretary of South South –South East PDP Security Initiative, Nze Samson Okereke has called on PDP faithful all over the country to call a certain “Money Bag” from Anambra State to order for wanting to cause the failure of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general elections if he decides to run. Comrade Okereke said categorically that PDP winning Anambra State is pivotal to the success of President Jonathan’s success in the 2015 polls. He continued, “ Anambra State is the fulcrum of Igbo nation, and it is very imperative that PDP wins the state in the forthcoming Governorship election, and the best bait for PDP to win the State is by fielding a man with stature, good pedigree, sound academic background, good character and a leader of note to match other parties’ candidates, some of who are former governors and senators. “If certain persons and characters are imposed on the party the party is bound to fail in the elections and this does not portend well for the future of PDP in the Southeast, Nze Okereke concluded.
Meanwhile the Anambra State Association in the United States of America on the auspices of ASA-USA has called on all government institutions overseeing the forth coming governorship election in the state to leave above board. The president of the association Professor Allison Anadi noted with dismay the kind of divergent tunes and issues emanating from the build up to the election. He condemned the incidence of godfatherism that is once again trying to rear it’s ugly head in the state. Prof Anadi called on President Goodluck Jonathan and well meaning leaders and members of PDP nationwide to call certain indigenes of the state to order who are trying to impose certain characters without pedigree or stature as the PDP candidate in the state. “We have a minimum standard we the people of Anambra State both at home and in the diaspora are looking for in the person who will replace the incumbent governor, Mr. Peter Obi,” Professor Anadi said.
It is to be noted that since the conclusion of the PDP primaries in the state that witnessed unbridled vote buying, intimidation, blackmail and political thugery there have been a political stalemate of some sort in choosing a PDP candidate who will fly the party’s flag in the state. Many well meaning indigenes of the state like former Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife believes that PDP must come up with a solid individual with unmatched credentials to fly the party’s flag in the state. “How can we impose just anybody or people of questionable characters as the PDP candidate in the state: the President’s political party?, the former governor queried. Ndi Igbo must support President Jonathan if he intends to run and we are talking of the person who will carry the president’s banner not only in Anambra State but across the Southeast, the former governor concluded.
In his own comment a PDP activist and author THE GOODLUCK NIGERIA NEEDS, Dr. Kenneth Anozie frowned at the crises of choosing a PDP flag-bearer in the state. He wondered why the leadership of the PDP did not take his suggestions seriously when he presented a powerful memo titled “How PDP will win Anambra State in the 2013 governorship election”, which was presented to many of the PDP NWC members and other leaders. “For me the issue is that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan should win the 2015 Presidential election, and the only way we can guarantee it is that PDP must capture Anmambra State in this years election. And for PDP to win we insist that a man of Stature must fly the party’s flag. PDP knows the men who will win this election and they are just playing to gallery and some people are just collecting huge bribes from some money bags in the state, and even some party chieftains who are members of the NWC do not mean well for the PDP. They want PDP to lose the election so they can continue to appoint board members and DGs from their families and friends. These so called PDP leaders don’t mean well for the party and the state. We must expose them now or they drag the party and the state further down, Anozie concluded.
It will be noted that the Apex Igbo organization, Oha-naEze Ndi-Igbo are watching this entire process with kin interest and may approach the President on it so that the party chooses a man of stature and integrity to fly the party’s flag in Anambra State in the coming governorship election.
