As part of the blueprint on intimidation, itself part of a seven-point agenda developed in Johannesburg, by APGA-controlled government, to compromise Anambra State gubernatorial elections, four men from the office of the Special Adviser to Governor on Security have beaten and confiscated the professional camera Nikon D 60 valued at N200,000 of our Campaign Cameraman,Chinedu.
One of the four have equally boasted to him saying: ‘When next week comes, we shall tell you how this campaign will go’.
We call on all who love peace and decency in Anambra State and beyond to request the Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi to intervene to release that camera which was deployed to capture the destruction of the billboard felled at the frontage of Amaku General Hospital and caution his men, before he sets Anambra State ablaze.
Yesterday our organization and the sponsor of the billboard gave different but corresponding accounts of how the government through the instrumentality of the Commissioner for Information and Campaign Manager to Willie Obiano fell the billboard at this location, and that of Awkuzu Junction.
Today we received a report that some member of a fledgling organization name APGA Front had cut up the flex bearing the information on the board to pieces.
It was while trying to capture this on camera that the henchmen from Government House, Awka struck, brutalizing the cameraman.
Like we have pointed out in this billboard saga, it is part of a seven-point agenda to intimidate the campaign operatives of Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, the winning candidate in the race for the gubernatorial elections of November 16, 2013.
We are determined not to allow them to succeed and at this point, all options are open.
