The Aba branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has given an award of professional service to The Sun Reporter in the city, Mr. Okey Sampson. The award was in recognition of his contributions to better the society.
In his speech at the award ceremony which held at the Bar Centre, chairman of NBA, Barr. Chidozie Ogunji said the award was in recognition of his contributions to better the society.
He described NBA Aba as the pioneer in the whole of the South East/ South South geo-political zone,adding that it decided to honour the recipient for his patriotism, doggedness and sense of professionalism.
Ogunji recalled that during the heydays of kidnapping in the city, Sampson was one of those at the forefront of bringing events the way they happened to the public.
The NBA chairman further remarked that against all odds, Sampson has not relented in his contributions to make the society better through balanced reporting of events, stressing that the Bar in Aba felt honouring him would encourage him to do more.
“This professional service award by the NBA, Aba branch to you is in recognition of your outstanding contributions to your vocation which has indeed helped in making the society better”, Ogunji said.
Responding, Sampson who dedicated the award to God and his colleagues, expressed NBA for honouring him with such an award.
