The 4th National Prayer Breakfast, an annual prayer event organised by the National Assembly as part of its efforts to build a united and harmonious nation for Nigerians, has been slated for Thursday, October 24, 2013.

Speaking to National Assembly correspondents in Abuja on Thursday, Publicity Committee chairman, Senator Ita Enang, said that the special prayers is for God to intervene and propel Nigeria to her rightful place.

“The prayer session is an annual activity, which seeks to build bridges of unity and engender national harmony and progress. The 2013 National Prayer Breakfast will hold on Thursday, 24th of October, 2013.

“The prayer will bring together Nigerians of all faith, tribe and creed to seek the face of Almighty God to inspire righteousness and Godliness in leadership of the country. Through the instrument of our faith, we prayerfully pull down all walls and vices that divide us as a nation and provoke the spirit of patriotism and love, necessary to propel Nigeria to her rightful place in the committee of nations,” he said.

With the theme: ‘God in the lives of national leaders for development’, the National Prayer Breakfast will have President Goodluck Jonathan as special guest of honour, while the senate president, Senator David Mark, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, will be chief hosts.
