…Calls for Prayers
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has described the crash in Lagos today of the Associated Airlines plane believed to be conveying the remains of late Chief Olusegun Agagu as a double tragedy.
Senator Ekweremadu who said the event came as a rude shock given the progress made in repositioning the nation’s aviation sector, including the tremendous improvements in aviation safety in recent times, called on all well meaning Nigerians to pray for the nation.
He said: “This comes as a rude shock, and it is indeed a double tragedy, not only for the late Chief Olusegun Agagu’s family, the government and good people of Ondo State, but for the nation as a whole.
“I feel most saddened over this unfortunate incident, and send my heartfelt condolences to all the affected families and pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of all those who lost their lives.”
The Deputy President of the Senate called on all Nigerians to pray for the nation, noting that Nigeria needs divine intervention in addition to the government’s efforts to mitigate such occurrences.
