A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ekiti Local Government area, Mrs. Felicia Ebun Owolabi has been described as a fraud by the National Association of Ekiti/Kwara students.
The association in a press statement signed by its national PRO, Comrade Israel Omobanjo on Friday, 25th of October 2013 in ilorin, the kwara state capital expressed its disappointment with the member of the kwara state house of assembly whom it accused of using the name of their association to print an exercise book to deceive the public to gain cheap popularity.
According to the association. ‘‘The purported 60 leaves note book which carries the name of our association(National Association of Ekiti/Kwara students),PDP logo, Picture of Senator Bukola Saraki, Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed and the Mrs Felicicia Ebun Owolabi is a complete fraud to deceive the entire students of Ekiti Kwara in her bid to gain relevance for poor performance”.
It further stated that, it didn’t print any note book, neither was it consulted before the book was printed in its name.
The association vow to seek legal redress to prevent future re-occurrence of such infringement of its association rights.
In their words,” the House of Assembly member Mrs. Felicia Ebun Owolabi is alien to the students of Ekiti Kwara and have never supported the Association in anyway since its creation”.
It added that, Mrs Ebun is only trying to ride on our good name to gain cheap relevance after her failure to meet up with demands of the people, adding that, our good name can not be associated with such a non performing house of assembly member.
The Ekiti student body said, it completely dissociate itself from such an unpatriotic venture, adding that, the teaming students across Ekiti Kwara do not need any book from non performing politician to study.
‘’ when we were busy organization debates, talk shows, sensitization, and student enlightment programmes all across Ekiti, no politician came to support us, it is after building a good image before the public that a non- performing politician deem it fit to steal our good name for political promotion’’ it said.
