.As Police vows to bring murder suspect to book.

Notorious armed robbers who has brought untold pains and tears to Nsukka residents and adjourning communities has met their waterloo after a severe gun duel with security operatives.
Operatives of the combined unit of Counter Terrorism Unit of the Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force and the Military acting on a prompt distress call on 13th October at about 9.30 pm engaged the group of suspected robbers, gunning down two, with one dead and the other fatally injured while others allegedly escaped with severe gun-shot injuries at Ohodo, in Igbo-etiti local government area of the Enugu state along Enugu-Nsukka expressway.
It was gathered that the alleged robbers were allegedly robbing the occupants of two buses with registration numbers AA 623 JAL and XB 396 BSA respectively before the operatives were promptly alerted.
Recovered from the hoodlums are four wooden guns carved in form of AK47 rifles ,two torch-lights and a hand-set.
In another development,the Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force are bent on unraveling the circumstance surrounding the incident that marred a traditional wedding at Ibagwa, ezimo-agu in Udenu local government area of Enugu state where one of the guests, identified as Ozor Obodo Ezenwa, who tried to stop one Chukwudi Adonu from shooting the brother, Obinna Adonu, during a scuffle that ensued was allegedly killed.
It was gathered that on 10th October, during the traditional marriage of their sister(Obinna Adonu), a tirade which its cause is yet-to-be ascertained ensued between the two brothers which triggered exchange of fisticuffs between them just as Chukwudi Adonu rushed into one of their rooms where he picked up a single barrel gun to shoot the brother which attracted the attention of the deceased(Ozor Obodo Ezenwa) who intervened promptly to save the situation.
The deceased allegedly gripped Chukwudi Adonu, with a view to stopping him from shooting his brother while the gun’s safety cap was set-off, allegedly killing Ozor-Obodo Ezenwa who is said to be about 22 years.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased is now deposited at the mortuary of Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka for necessary action.
In a statement made available and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of Enugu Police command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, he assured, “members of the public that the Police will leave up to its constitutional mandate of protection of lives and property while soliciting for support from the public in the area of volunteering information that will forestall the activities of criminally minded individuals in the society”.
