The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA yesterday in Awka presented its governorship candidate Dr Willie Obianor, who will fly the party’s flag in the Nov 16,2013 election in Anambra state to the electorates. The governorship campaign flag off has been fixed for Oct 16.
The national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh in company of the national secretary, Alhaji Sanni Shinkafi said that the incumbent Gov Peter Obi has done so well through his ANIDS programme which he noted is enough reason for the good people of the state to continue to support APGA.
Umeh pointed out that the party’s flagbearer in the governorship election possess sterling credentials to build on Obi’s legacies.
Also Chief Emeka Ojukwu jnr in his remarks said that the baton that was handed to Obi by his late father twelve year ago has transformed the state from negativity to positivity. He declared that the party’s flag bearer would improve on the incumbent’s modest achievements.
Mr Obiano after his official presentation said that he accept the challenge thrown at him with the party’s ticket. He said he would write his name in gold in the sand of time with the quality governance he brings into the state.
He solicited for the support of all and sundry most especially those he defeated at the primaries He would bring other south eastern states to the APGA fold because the party is collective voice of Ndigbo.
Obi thanked everybody that trooped out to be part of the historic presentation.
