His past deals in ADB projects surfaces… PDP and President warned about him.

From Deacon Ebenezer Ike

It is no more news that INEC have fixed 16th November 2013 for the Anambra State Governorship polls, but what has been agitating the mind of some well thinking Nigerians especially the Youth of the State is what Prince Arthur Eze really wants in Anambra State. It is on record that this Prince who claims to be a strong supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan seem to be unknowingly working for the downfall of the President’s party, PDP in the State’s 16th November Polls by his insistence to support someone who do not command the respect of Anambrarians.

During a sensitization tour of Anambra State to mobilize voters for PDP for the 16th November Polls by some Coalition of PDP Youths let by Mallam Tijani Mohammed, the National Co-ordinator of People United for Goodluck Jonathan it was discovered that many prominent Anambrarians and generality of Anambra Youths are not happy with the quality of candidate said to be supported by Prince Arthur Eze. “During our tour many people have told us that before they can vote for PDP they must be availed with a quality candidate who will command the respect of Anambrarians, otherwise they will vote against the president in 2015 general elections as a protest”, Mallam Mohammed said. The groups have gone to Anambra State to mobilize support for PDP during the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.

Investigations revealed that Prince Arthur Eze is supporting a former student leader whose antecedents are quite suspicious. “Why can’t Prince support a more credible candidate who can command the respect of people like former Vice president; Ide Dr. Alex Ekwueme, former Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria and founder of PDP, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. ABC Nwosu, former Minister of Health, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former Governor, Anambra State, Chief Obianodo, The chairman of Young Shall Grow and Rockview Hotels, and other  prominent indigenes of Anambra State”, some Anambrarians asked in disgust.

Some serving and retired Civil Servants complained bitterly that Prince Arthur Eze who in the past cornered ADB projects during the military regimes and abandoned them after collecting huge sums for the projects wondered whether he wants to re-enact such shady days of abandoned project in Anambra State. “Prince Arthur Eze used to collect all ADB projects in Anambra State and some other States and he will abandon them”, a retired Civil servant who claimed anonymity told our correspondent in Awka recently.

It is on record that other competing parties in the state parade achievers and candidates with distinguished pedigrees, and many party faithful in the state are wondering why the party can’t come up with someone of unmatched credentials to compete with other parties.

It will be recalled that PDP National Headquarters have been facing issues about the candidate of the party for 16th November polls in Anambra State, and many party members are very suspicious of the role of some leaders of the party in the state. “Why do we need the courts to decide who flies our party flag?” a prominent party leader from the state queried recently. What the party would have done, just like other competing parties in the state is to look at the array of candidates and back the most qualified and ask others candidates and the state party members to support the person; it is not yet late for the party to adopt someone now as the party still have some windows to adopt a “compromise candidate” or support someone’s process who will command the respect of party faithful in the state”, a former Youth leader of the party in the state who claimed anonymous said.

A PDP chieftain in Anambra State who claimed anonymity in his own comment called on the PDP and Presient Goodluck Jonathan that the candidate Prince Arthur Eze is supporting does not have what it takes to run Anambra State and it will be an insult on the sensibilities of Anambrarians to hoist such a person as PDP candidate in the state. “We have gone out to feel the pulse of our people and everywhere we go it is the same story, people are not happy that at time they made up their mind to support Mr. President’s party, the PDP, the party failed to put forward a credible candidate with stature and integrity who will compete favourably with the likes of Ngige and Willie Obiano who have distinguished themselves creditably, and running in APC and APGA respectively. Where are Senator Andy Uba and other more credible candidates the PDP Chieftain asked? Why would the party not support them so that PDP can win the state?, a frustrated party chieftain queried.
