The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Nov 16,2013 governorship election in Anambra state, Comrade Tony Nwoye has reacted to the non-inclusion of his name among those published by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), describing it as a purely administrative matter. That it would be sorted out as soon as possible to avoid distracting his campaign tours and programmes.
Speaking through is campaign organisation in Awka yesterday, Nwoye said that the INEC publication which had the name of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu under the PDP was equally indicated as being in compliance and obedience of court order which was secured by Ukachukwu.
He said that his legal team as well as that of the party headquarters was working hard to set the order aside so as to move ahead.
Director General of the campaign organization and former Secretary to the state Government (SSG), Prince Osita Victor Ezenwa who addressed journalists alongside other party big wigs on behalf of Nwoye, urged all their supporters, new members and political enthusiasts and friends to remain level headed, focused and unshaken about the present minor developments. He described them as part of the stepping stone towards victory.
Ezenwa urged the people to continue with preparations for the election, noting with emphasis that Anambra is reputed to be a staunch PDP zone and that they are now poised to take it back.
The court order which INEC obeyed would in no time be set aside for Nwoye to cruise home to a smooth campaign and eventual electoral triumph on Nov 16.
On the nagging issue of forgery which was level against Nwoye, Ezenwa said that no such thing exists actually. He said Nwoye merely updated the same set of personal data he used in his election into the Federal House of Representatives. That the same standard of screening was applied and he was found clean, until now some interested parties started insinuating non-existent issues.
He appealed to “our teeming supporters to remain unshaken and disturbed as things are on course and would take off fully soon.
A call to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu but was answered by his Director General, Chief Fabian Ozoigbo indicated that he was busy in a meeting at the INEC headquarters with some documentations. He promised to address the press as soon as possible.
