Our attention has just been drawn to a news report in the print and electronic media, of the resignation of Chief Annie Okonkwo, Chairman of Senator Chris Ngige National Campaign Committee.
While we acknowledge that it is within Chief Okonkwo’s right to withdraw his membership of any committee or organisation, ours inclusive, it is of great importance to emphasize that in exercising such rights, the rights and integrity of another is not impugned.
For the avoidance of doubt, His Excellency, Senator Chris Ngige is not in breach of any agreement with anyone, including Chief Annie Okonkwo in the course of his gubernatorial journey. This fact that can be attested to by the leadership of our great party, the All Progressive Congress(APC).
We acknowledge, and appreciate the step-down of Chief Annie Okonkwo for our principal His Excellency, Senator Chris Ngige OON, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
We re-assure Ndi Anambra AND indeed the good people of Nigeria that His Excellency Senator Chris Ngige will as always, justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of Anambra State after being elected Governor of Anambra State on November 16, 2013-09-20 He has done it before and he will do it again
