.Gives governorship aspirants 24 hours to renounce new PDP
Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has suspended its members who attended a meeting called by the new PDP.
The party has also given three of its four governorship aspirants 24hours within which to give a notice dissociating themselves from a statement credited to a member of the new PDP and former chairman of the party in the state, Alh Ademola Rasaq which claimed that the aspirants, Fatai Akinbade, Wole Oke and Olasunkomi Akinlabi are with them in the new PDP.
The party in a statement signed by its state chairman, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa noted that the decision to suspend the members and also seek clarifications from its aspirants, is in line with the directive of the national chairman of the party, Alh Bamanga Tukur and also part of the resolutions taken at the last general congress of the Osun PDP chapter where it was unanimously agreed that no member of the party in the state should attend any meeting called by the new PDP, either called by Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola or his proxy and that disobedience to the directive will attract strict disciplinary measures.
Those suspended are Alh Ademola Rasaq, Yinka Adeojo, Soji Oluwatukesi member of a federal board, Alh Rasaq Oyetunji, a former chief driver to Oyinlola, Ibukun Fadipe, Alh Akomola Ayedaade, Teslim Igbalaiye, member federal board, Dapo Boluwaduro and Princess Bowade Afolabi, a member of SURE P board in Osun State
Also suspended are three ward chairmen in Ayedaade wards 5, 6 and 8 and were told to stop parading themselves as ward chairmen and urged them to hand over to their deputies.
The party stated that the indicted governorship aspirants should clear their names before the ultimatum given to them lapse or face consequences of their action.
Olaoluwa said it was disheartening to hear that with the governorship polls around the corner, those who were supposed to be working assiduously to reclaim Osun State from the All Progressives Congress (APC) were busy fraternizing with those who do not mean well for the state.
The party added that it has commenced investigation into Prince Oyinlola’s role in the matter and if he is found guilty he would face the wrath of the party.
PDP also took a swipe at members of Federal boards who decided to join the Kawu Baraje faction of the party, adding that it has began a process to get them replaced with loyal party members as they cannot bite the fingers that feed them.
The party enjoined the governorship aspirants in the state to be engaged with how to win the governorship race, adding that any of them found romancing the new PDP will be sanctioned for anti party activities.
