The ceremonies holding at Emmaus House Awka will set up the national operators whose responsibility according to the APC is tailored to engineer ‘moral and material’ support nationally for the victory of the APC candidate in the elections
The committee will be headed by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, as Leader, while three Governors, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Sani Al-Makura of Nassarawa State are the co-leaders.
Acting Chairman and National Campaign Co-ordinator is Chief George Moghalu, erstwhile leader of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the state.
Senator Ngige emerged as candidate after the conduct of Direct Primaries held by APC on September 2, 2013 beating Mr Godwin Ezeemo by 63,955 votes to 9,564.
Ngige , governor of Anambra State from 2003 to 2006 in his acceptance speech at the occasion thanked all stakeholders in their role and declared that ‘APC’s primaries ,the only one in which all members of the party were involved as a showcase of democracy ,which has revealed the voting strength of APC members ‘
In his surmise, since APC members cast above 72,000 votes, they are entering the elections with nothing less than 240,000 votes as captive votes, even as he warned those who may like to rig the elections that there are now better parameters.
