THE interim deputy National Chairman north of the All Progressive
Congress (APC) and former Speaker House of Representative, Alhaji
Aminu Bello Masari said their task is to ensure registration of
members in the party that is what is important to the party (APC) at
this moment the issue of membership registration across the country
is very crusial .
The interim deputy National Chairman north made the disclosure last
Sunday while answering questions to news men at Ringim town of Ringim
local government area in Jigawa state shortly after formal
presentation of the APC candidate for the upcoming bye election of a
vacant state assembly position which will flagging up campaign soon.
Honourable Aminu Bello Masari explained that the issue of the party
congress would come up If you have registered members then you go for
congress to elect the leadership of the party from the ward.
According to him the party has wide acceptability as Nigerians had
tired of the ruling People Democratic Party and looking change and the
only alternative is APC, “so people including members of PDP were
waiting for the commencement of the party’s registration to register
them selves to make positive change in the country”.
He maintained that “APC is better than PDP considering the calibre of
people that are in it now and we are hoping that our party would take
power from PDP especially with the crises of confidence that is
tearing the PDP apart”.
Masari stated further that “If you can recall as far back as 2008/2009
we formed a group known as PDP reform group, we than wanted the PDP to
reform because that time it had control over 27 States and over 500
local governments, we said PDP as a ruling party needed the
reformation so that other parties could take a cue but what happened
then?”
“We predicted then that unless there was reform in the PDP there was
going to be implosion and we have been proved right. More than seven
Governor staged a walk out at their special convention in the open
glare of the entire world so really the implosion in the PDP is coming
because they have refused the reform we agitated for”, he emphases.
Deputy Chairman assured that the party APC would operate within the
constitution of the party and give everybody the opportunity to
partake in the politics of the party and the nation.
