APC Elects Exco, Vows To Win Nov 16 Guber Poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC)party has vowed to wrestle the reins of power from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the forthcoming Noveber 16 governorship election in the state.

This was the focus of the acceptance speech by the newly elected state
chairman of the party, Chief Chuks CJ Chinwuba after the inauguration
of his  exco at the Suncity Hotels, Awka.

The officers were elected in a peaceful state congress which was
attended by delegates elected from the 21 council areas.

Chinwuba who is the former secretary of the Onitsha North  Local
Government, was elected through a voice affirmation alongside Chief
Samuel Igwediia as the deputy chairman while Chief J.P.C Obikwelu was
elected the state Secretary.

The Woman Leader is Mrs  Modesta Okagbue, and Henry Emerah was elected
as the state Youth Leader.

The Congress was supervised by a special committee headed by Chief
Romeo Anyisia who appealed to every citizen of the state to jettison
parochial sentiments in the coming election and elect persons of at
testable credentials.

In his acceptance speech, Chinwuba while thanking the members for
their zeal, sense of duty and commitment assured they would not fail
them. Describing the party as a new wine in an old wine skin which is
an amalgam of cooperating existing political parties has all it takes
to clinch the governorship seat in the state in the coming Nov
election.

He pointed out that the party is a composition of the entire
progressives in the polity that have since the dawn of the new
political dispensation driven the opposition machinery of the nation.
He prided in the fact that his executive was made up of able and
active young men and women with intense zeal to take the party and
Anambra state to the next level.

He saw the party’s slogan of “change”, as apt-tailored towards
bringing new life and direction, developmental strides in the state
and country.

He reminded them that the congresses which started with the ward,
council have now peaked with the state congress and that the remaining
task is for the governorship primary tomorrow ahead the big event of
Nov 16, 2013 which would be the governorship election proper.

According to him, the party wil give all GUBER aspirants equal
opportunity to actualize their aspiration, urging the to eschew any
form of hearsay or rumor, but to recon firm from him or any other
party official whenever in doubt of any information or story.

The chairman listed key elections in the horizon to include the
governorship, council, and the 2015 general elections, stressing the
party will be well prepared.

Chinwuba therefore reminded the members to take the new party to the
grassroots where they all come from.

He said that other structures of the new party like the state
secretariat, council and wards offices would be unveiled soon. He
assured they would henceforth formulate mechanisms to elect
chairmanship and councillor ship candidates for the forthcoming Oct 5,
2013 council election in the state.

he gave kudos to key leaders of the partymin the South East
geopolitical zone for their efforts, sacrifices and contributions to
the stability and the galloping growth of the party. He said APC
remain the only party in the nation and state without any form of
rancor or acrimony.

Chief Igwedibia called on Anambra citizens to guard their political
loins and avoid any form of deceit by politicians with sugar coated
tongues who would soon begin to lure them with gifts. He said his APC
remain the only party that has the interest of the people at heart.
