Minister of states for education, Barrister Nyesome Wike over the weekend apologized to residents of Oyigbo local government Area for nominating Hon. Felix Uche Nwaeke as their council chairman during 2011 election in the state.
The minister made his apology during the inauguration of Grass roots Development Initiative, GDI, in Oyigbo local government council, Rivers state.
In his speeches, he expressed disappointment that Hon Felix Uche Nwaeke who is the current council boss has failed to perform up to expectations, regretting further, he said he had to apologized because he nominated him and there is lack of dividend of democracy in the area.
As Barrister Wike continues to apologizes he enjoined the residents to ensure that there is dividend of democracy in the local government.
Corroborating, Acting Vice President, Hon Chibudom Nwuche in his remarks also expressed disappointment over the low pace of development in the area.
On his part, Rivers state People Democratic Party chairman, Hon. Felix Obuah said he would discussed with the governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to extend dividend of democracy in Oyigbo council.
