Senator Andy Uba was yesterday accused of allegedly going the exact way he did with the 2011 general election primaries in the state, where he abandoned the Senator Joseph Waku- led commitee that was sent by PDP headquarters and went to hold his separate private primary.
The former governor who stayed away from the last Friday rally in Awka where the Senator Adolphus WABARA- led team from the national secretariat unveiled all the governorship aspirants.
Uba and one Chief Patrick Ugboma from Ogbaru who was alleged to be under his canopy were the only ones who were absent at the well- attended gathering at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka at the weekend.
Not minding the painstaking listing of the venues and the actual supervisors of yesterday’s Ward congress in the 326 electoral wards in the state by the party headquarters and signed by the National Organising secretary, Alh Abubakar Yusuf that was published in select national dailies head the event yesterday, Uba,s men tempted to scuttle it.
They succeeded in some areas to forcefully move the congress from the published venue to another location of their choice.
The situation led to some argument in some areas where their action was challenged.
Whereas some areas did not even give them a hearing at all, “because Anambra do not want anything to do with the Uba brothers at all”, a member who gave his name as Christian Akuchukwu.
However early situation results from the field for the ward congress in the state indicated that Mr Walter Okeke’s supporters are reported to be leading.
